OSU Helping Build World's Largest Telescope
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A very delicate, particular operation is being undertaken at Ohio State University Friday. It’s part of a project that’s enabling astronomers to see further into space.
It counts as a huge day for not only the OSU Department of Astronomy, but the entire university community as this project has been 10 years in the making.
On Friday, a huge crane is on-site at the department to help lift a large component out of a massive telescope. The piece will then be shipped to an observatory in Arizona.
In the end, it will be part of the world’s largest telescope.
